International
Awards. BOMA-Atlanta recently won two awards from BOMA
International, recognizing the association's communications
programs. BOMA-Atlanta won the Media Media Relations and
Issues/Crisis Management Award. BOMA-Atlanta also won the Marketing
Communications Award for its work on behalf of the BOMA Southern
Region Conference.
Salary
Survey. BOMA-Atlanta has completed a 2006 Salary and
Benefits Survey, which includes data from 30 property management
companies in metro-Atlanta. The data was compiled by an independent
consultant who prepared the report. A free copy will be sent to key
representatives from participating companies. Copies of the survey

Course
for Engineers. The BTO is partnering with Chattahoochee
Technical College to offer a special Commercial HVAC Course for
building engineers. The course provides an opportunity to enhance
service skills through hands-on training. It will enable beginning
engineers and those with experience to become more proficient in the
work environment. Course topics will include commercial
refrigeration systems, energy management, DDC controls, pneumatic
calibration, cooling tower maintenance, air handlers, pumps,
boilers, water and air balancing and other topics. Classes will meet
on Thursday nights from 5 to 9 p.m. for 10 weeks per semester and
are scheduled to begin September 14, 2006. The full program lasts 5
semesters. The course beginning in September is the first in the

BOMA Website. BOMA-Atlanta recently launched a new
website at www.boma-atlanta.org.
As a result, your user name and password to log into the
members-only section of the website has changed. Your user name is
your BOMA-Atlanta ID number, and your password is your last name.

Administration.
(Aug. 15) Learn leadership skills, oral communication techniques,
motivational and team-building strategies, and training programs.
Through the course, you will develop skills needed by managers in a
maintenance environment, including the ability to plan, organize,
schedule, delegate, budget, monitor, inspect, document and write.
Facility
Planning and Project Management. (Aug. 16)
Develop the skills and knowledge critical to the successful
execution of a facilities project: proper planning, selecting a
building's team, and following through with attention to detail. You
will learn how to assemble and manage facilities teams and how to
plan and implement facilities projects, including methods to control
key elements of the process.
BOMA
Energy Efficiency Program Audio Seminar.
(Sept. 8) This audio seminar is the fourth in a series exploring
BOMA International's Energy Efficiency Program.
Property
Management 101.
(Sept. 8) This course provides participants with an overview of the
commercial real estate industry. It is designed for assistant
property and facility managers and others who are interested in
advancing their career. In addition to classroom-style instruction,
participants will also be exposed to a variety of buildings
metro-Atlanta and will learn from hands-on experiences and group
discussions. Instructor: Carol Dalton Moore, RPA.

Trade Show. (Aug. 24) This year's BOMA Trade Show will
from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Cobb Galleria.
BOMA
Luncheon. (Aug.
24) BOMA is hosting a luncheon in conjunction with the annual Trade
Show. Registration is required to attend the luncheon.
BTO
Breakfast. (Aug.
24) The BTO is hosting a breakfast for building engineers in
conjunction with the annual Trade Show.
BTO Luncheon. (Sept. 7
& Sept. 14) This educational
program has been designed specifically for building engineers. The
same program will be presented on Sept.
7
at the Loudermilk Center
and Sept.
14
at the AGC office in Marietta. BTO
members are required to pre-register for the specific week they will
attend. Members may not swap dates.
BOMA Sports Outing.
(Sept. 22) The annual BOMA Sports Outing will be on Sept. 22 at
Chateau Elan. Look for registration details soon.
