What is BOMA-Atlanta?
The Building Owners and Managers of Atlanta is a trade association representing the largest industry in metro Atlanta - commercial real estate. BOMA-Atlanta is also affiliated with the International Building Owners and Managers Association.

Who are BOMA members?
BOMA members include building owners, property managers, facility managers, building engineers, students and representatives from allied-industry companies.

What impact do BOMA members have on metro-Atlanta?
BOMA members are responsible for more than $135 million in annual tax revenues to the City of Atlanta and four counties in the metropolitan area. Our members are responsible for the ownership/management and administration of over 150 million square feet of office space, and additional millions of square feet of facilities throughout the metro Atlanta area.

Our members have 24-hour a day responsibility for the safety, physical well-being, and security of the over 400,000 employees housed in the office buildings and office parks managed by this industry.

Our members have participated in the successful implementation of sprinkler laws, smoking restrictions in public buildings, and ADA compliance for barrier free access. Our Energy Alliance provides outstanding programs in natural gas and electrical energy conservation.

Our members participate actively with our international association in the development of the international model codes for energy conservation, indoor air quality, elevator safety, and other health and life safety issues. BOMA’s method of square footage floor measurement is the standard for the commercial property industry. BOMA International produces the annual Experience Exchange report survey of operating expenses, which has also sets the benchmarking standard for the industry.
